Istituto Svizzero is pleased to collaborate with Danae Festival (XXIII edition, Milan 26.09-24.10.2021), by supporting the Italian premiere of  Faded by Ioannis Mandafounis.

Ioannis Mandafounis brings his bursting energy back to Danae Festival in a dance solo that will end his experience on stage. In his presentation we learn that dancers, at the end of their career, must face reality: their bodies, exhausted by the technical needs, must withstand their decline until the curtain drops for the last time. In Faded, the artist goes back to his first love, classical dance, and pays homage to it by performing a marathon of ten male soloes (“variations”). On stage with him an accomplice, the talented actress Antigone Frida, in a dialogue between music and dance. This act, so disarmingly simple, is the last bow on stage by the Greek-Swiss choreographer, and reveals the daily struggle hidden behind the art of dance.
