Workshop Extensions Palermo

Swiss artist Yasmine Hugonnet, currently in residency in Palermo with Istituto Svizzero at Palazzo Butera, has been invited to be part of this year’s Biennale and will offer a workshop of four days with a final performance on 7 December.

The workshop is addressed to performers and dancers from Sicily and is free.

Deadline 17 November.

is a dance of extended perception, which expands the frictions between the near and the far, the similar and the different. The project is based on the sharing of existing scores and instruments of composition and changes according to the places and participants. The scores are composed of previous solos, in particular the Récital des Postures  (Swiss Prize for Choreographic Creation 2017), Se Sentir Vivant (2017), and group practices .

Articulate the movement between the visible and the invisible
The choice not to move one’s body or one of its parts is a very strong action, which is able to suspend the visible in favour of another dynamic activity, such as the response of the body and mind, through committed physical endurance. It is in this dialogue between production and reception, between visible and invisible, that the artist invites the participants to experiment. Hugonnet sees the exhibition as a space to read our perception of time, space, body and human languages.
