Istituto Svizzero presents at SPRINT—Independent Publishers and Artists’ Books Salon the twenty three titles awarded with The Most Beautiful Swiss Books, the prestigious annual prize that brings together the best of Swiss publishing organized by the Federal Office of Culture. The Most Beautiful Swiss Books competition recognizes the work of the year’s most talented book designers, encourages and showcases high-quality productions, and then promotes the winning works.
A traveling exhibition is organized each year in Switzerland and abroad, as a promotional measure to share and consolidate skills related to book design.

Until December 10 TMBSB is on view at Dropcity, inside the Magazzini Raccordati in the Central Station. The display will be presented in the context of Making Waves – Conjuring of New Forms in Publishing, where rare volumes, originals, facsimiles and recent editions explore the idea of manual and self-education, starting from the Whole Earth Catalog publishing experience up to the current How to… series published by Kayfa ta كيف تـ.

During the exhibitions at Dropcity, the film A story from Circolo della rosa by artist Alex Martinis Roe will be screened in loop.
The exhibitions The Most Beautiful Swiss Books and Making Waves – Conjuring of New Forms in Publishing (co-present at Dropcity) hosted the event Sophie Taeuber-Arp and the Monte Verità Experience-Traces of an interdisciplinary movement, to discuss the relationship between the arts in the work of Sophie Taeuber-Arp, with a focus on the avant-garde and reform movements, in the context of the Monte Verità experience (Ascona, Ticino). The talk was given in Italian by Medea Hoch, art historian (University of Zurich), editor with Walburga Krupp and Sigrid Schade of the volume Sophie Taeuber-Arp. Briefe 1905-1942 (Nimbus Verlag), winner among The Most Beautiful Swiss Books.
