From 14 to 19 March RIVIERA opens its doors to a project by The Art Markets, a Milan-based non-profit organization for the promotion of artists’ books, presenting an exhibition of catalogues, magazines, posters, postcards and invitations gathered by private collectors from 1980 to 2000, with particular focus on Japanese graphics and promotional materials connected with the fashion house Comme des Garçons.
The paper quality of the archive exhibited at RIVIERA celebrated the influences and collaborations of the brand founded by Rei Kawakubo in 1969. The magazine Six, some catalogues and posters made with artists like Cindy Sherman and Enzo Cucchi, photographers like Bruce Weber and Peter Lindbergh, editors such as Atsuko Kozasu and the art director Tsuguya Inoue.
