Messing Up Measures While Looking For Some Tracks is a listening activation workshop led by Elena Radice within the framework of the exhibition Talking Measures Or How To Lose Track by Li Tavor and Nicolas Buzzi and curated by Gioia Dal Molin.

To coincide the closing of the exhibition in Milan, Istituto Svizzero invited Elena Radice to run a workshop.

Through three guided listening sessions the workshop will observe the sound material that ‘builds’ the installation by Li Tavor and Nicolas Buzzi, it will deconstruct the compositional process of the artists, and then interact with it directly, inhabiting – not only through the act of listening – the space in which the sound is formed and refracted.

Through the voice will be questioned the performativity of the presence, listening and in action, which relates to the architectural space activated by the work of the two artists.

The call is open to everyone, with a preference for students or graduates with a personal or study path related to contemporary art, who are also interested in sound design and other practices related to sound.

During the workshop exercises will be proposed, and it is expected the use of personal tools such as a charged smartphone able to record voice notes, a charged bluetooth speaker, a pair of earphones with microphone.

Elena Radice is an artist based in Milan. She works across different media, with a strong interest towards those open and dialogical aesthetic forms that are greatly influenced by the attention economy, the Internet, and their dynamics. The relationship with the space, considered as both an abstract and a geographical concept, is pivotal to her creative process, as it informs and gets informed by her work. Videos become portals and sounds dialogical presences traveling through different distances. Elena Radice is also a high school professor and she has spent most of her last three years teaching audiovisual practices, building and projecting furnitures, and taking pictures of other artists’ artworks. She has collaborated recently, among others, with: SPRINT —Independent Publishers and Artists’ Books Salon, Tomboys don’t cry, Sophie Jung, Enrico Boccioletti, ALMARE, Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti, Mattia Capelletti, ESTAR(SER).
