I venerdì pomeriggio
I venerdì pomeriggio at Istituto Svizzero are dedicated to our residents. It is an opportunity for the public to learn more about the projects they are working on during this year’s residency.
The event is curated by Hayahisa Tomiyasu (Fellow Roma Calling 2020/2021), who presents new works from his residency in Rome, available on our website.
10 seconds is a new video that combines two works produced in two different locations: Zurich and Rome. A double screen shows photos of numbers taken by Hayahisa Tomiyasu in public spaces of the two cities. The numbers go from 10 to 1 as to remind a countdown.
The video is accompanied by the transcription of a conversation between Hayahisa Tomiyasu and art historian Dr. Gabrielle Schaad, providing an overview of his current work and practice.
