World Poetry Day
To celebrate World Poetry Day, the Goethe-Institut in Rome hosts the tenth edition of the evening of readings L’Europa in versi, which will see 15 poets from different European countries take turns in reading poetry in the original language with Italian translation. The evening is moderated by Marco Dotti and hosts, as a sign of solidarity, the Ukrainian poet Iya Kiva.
Switzerland will be represented by the poet Simone Lappert.
Simone Lappert was born 1985 in Aarau and studied at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel. With her debut novel Wurfschatten she was shortlisted for the ZDF-aspekte prize and her novel Der Sprung was nominated for the Swiss Book Award. For her poetry, she received the Heinz-Weder-Preis and a work grant from the Fachausschuss Literatur Basel. She is president of the Basel International Poetry Festival and was Swiss curator of the poetry project Babelsprech.International. She lives in Zurich.
