Istituto Svizzero supports the performance Le Cirque Astéroïde by Swiss dancer and choreographer Marie-Caroline Hominal, who will perform on two consecutive days in Milan, as part of the FAROUT Festival and the Festival le Alleanze dei corpi.
Le Cirque Astéroïde is a 30-minute show held in a trailer truck. It reveals 5 performers with spoken word acts, drums, brass and dances for a constellation of celebrations. The work is part of a series of different choreographic pieces that explore party imagery, entertainment dynamics and theatrical tricks.

«During the spring 2020 lockdown, I found myself in front of a construction site with some workers loading material onto a truck, whose huge red tarp was opening like a curtain. This was the stimulus to write Le cirque astéroïde. After this period I wanted to perform on the street, and the semi-trailer became a scenic landscape for me, a place of mobile poetry». Marie-Caroline Hominal.

Marie-Caroline Hominal lives and works in Geneva. She studied dance at the TanzAkademie in Zurich and the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London. She subsequently worked with Tanztheater Basel, Gisele Vienne, Gilles Jobin, La Ribot and Marco Berrettini, among others. Her artistic practice includes drawing, dance, video, performance installation, and radio. In 2019, she was awarded ‘Best Female Dancer’ by the Swiss Dance Awards / Federal Office of Culture.

With the support of City of Geneva, the Republic and Canton of Geneva, Centre culture suisse in Paris, Teatro Sociale Bellinzona, Istituto Svizzero.
