The Summer School From Parchment to Pixel and Back, organized in collaboration with the Universität Zürich together with the Università degli Studi di Pavia, the Universität Regensburg, and the KU Leuven, is an intensive one-week training course taking place from 19 to 25 July 2026. Bringing together historical musicology, manuscript and book studies, digital humanities, and historical performance practice, it offers an interdisciplinary approach to the study of late medieval and early modern musical sources, with a central case study devoted to the music of Tomás Luis de Victoria.

As part of the programme, the Spanish vocal group Cantoría presents to the public a concert that will revive the spiritual power of Victoria’s Tenebrae Responsories. Conceived as a liturgical reconstruction, the concert transports listeners into the contemplative atmosphere of Good Friday, weaving together mysticism, the interplay of light and darkness, and the luminous purity of polyphonic singing.
